The Power of a Praying Church

A prayerful church is a powerful church. – Charles Spurgeon

The most important thing you can do for the ministry of Outreach Church is to pray! And pray often. If a church is truly dependent on God to meet their needs and to strengthen their unity and effectiveness, they will grow and become a powerful force for winning souls and growing God’s kingdom. The Bible tells us that the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective. (James 5:16)

I hope that you will join me in praying the following prayer over Outreach Church daily. The church that prays together, stays together!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for Outreach Church. Thank you for each person in this ministry and their love for each other and you. Thank you for providing us with God fearing, loving and caring leadership who have a heart for seeking the lost and pointing people toward you. I am so thankful to be a part of this church family and to use my gifts to serve you alongside my Outreach family. I’m thankful to live in a country that doesn’t persecute me for my beliefs and allows me to meet with other believers to worship and to serve you. I pray for believers that are not so fortunate, that you would strengthen and comfort them with your Holy Spirit.

May you give the people of Outreach Church spiritual wisdom and insight so that we might grow in our Knowledge of you, dear Father, having the eyes of our hearts enlightened that we may know what is the hope to which you have called us, what are the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of your power toward those who believe. (Ephesians 1:17-19)

I pray that the people of Outreach Church would speak evil of no one, avoid quarreling, be gentle, and show perfect courtesy toward all people. (Titus 3:2) That we would handle confrontations biblically, and that church discipline would be exercised when necessary. (Matthew 18:15-17)

I pray that you would enable and inspire the people of Outreach Church to use their spiritual gifts to serve each other (1 Peter 4:10-11) and you, dear Lord.

Help us take seriously our participation in the Great Commission – going and making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything Jesus commanded. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Grant a spirit of unity in our church – that we may all be one, just as God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are one. Help us be one in God so that the world may believe that Jesus was truly sent by God. (John 17:21)

I beg you, dear Lord, to please enable each person of our church to receive your word, not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, and that this Word would work in those who believe. (1 Thessalonians 2:13)

Please allow us to be a surrendered church – one that is characterized by following Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1)

We know that by doing these things and trusting in you that Outreach Church will grow and prosper. We exist to serve you and we desire to make an impact in our community for you as members of the body of Christ. We give you all the honor and the glory.

In Jesus Name

Amen

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. – Matthew 21:22
