Make a Difference Monday

We hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday today!

Mondays get such a bad rap. Out of all the days of the week, Monday is the one that most people dread to see come around. The weekend’s over. Back to the daily grind of the workweek.

What if we looked at Mondays differently? What if we woke up on Monday mornings thanking God for a new week and a fresh start?

With that in mind, we have decided to start “Make a Difference Mondays.” We will be issuing a new weekly Outreach Challenge every Monday.

Let’s make Monday positive! Let’s make Monday intentional! Let’s make Monday, and every day, a day to reach out to those around us with the love of Christ!

For this first week’s challenge, we ask you to look at people around you, find a need and meet it. Simple as that!

It shouldn’t be a service that you’re paid to perform. If you work in a restaurant, you’re obviously going to feed hungry customers because it’s your job.

No, this challenge is meant to push you to come out of your comfort zone – to reach out to people in ways that go above and beyond what you would normally do.

You might feed a homeless person, visit a shut-in, or help a friend by watching their child. If you look around, you’ll see there are plenty of needs that you can meet.

“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” – James 2:14-17

Let’s make sure our actions show our faith. Let the world see Jesus in us. Together, we can make a difference, one person at a time!
